Covesion

Covesion develops precision frequency conversion solutions for scientific applications, including lasers and quantum technology. They serve a global customer base of researchers, engineers and procurement professionals, and their previous website no longer reflected the calibre of the company or the technology behind it.

The brief was to design and build a site that reinforced Covesion’s standing as a significant player in the quantum sector, showcased their technical expertise and thought leadership, and made it simple for users to find products, access technical resources and get in touch. The design also needed to emphasise their UK manufacturing credentials and ease of access to European markets.

Design

The design brief called for a clean, professional layout that led with Covesion’s innovation in quantum applications. Using the concept of light and the visible spectrum, we created moving animations representing how PPLN crystals work, bringing a technical product to life visually. “Made in Britain” messaging and Covesion’s values of technical support, accessibility and quality were woven into the visuals and copy throughout.

Build & Technical Features

The build addressed a number of specific requirements: an events calendar for upcoming industry engagements, an improved search function for products and resources, a reorganised Knowledge Hub reinforcing thought leadership, a downloadable catalogue with data capture, and advanced product filtering across Covesion’s diverse product range. Every feature was built to serve the user journeys established during the UX phase.

SEO Setup & Launch

On-page SEO was completed ahead of launch, optimising meta information and page content for target keywords in quantum and photonics technology. The site launched on time and on budget in September 2024, with continued live testing to ensure a seamless experience across all devices.

Comparing performance two months pre and post-launch, the new site delivered a significant increase in visibility and engagement across Google’s search results, providing Covesion with a strong foundation for continued organic growth.
